Looking in the garage for cache containers I stumbled on a vintage ammo can stuffed with vintage swag items many of which dated back to the early days of geocaching.
Recalling an early cache I'd hidden in this area and remembering later finding a better location not that far away I thought why not put that ammo can out there.
Got to the parking coordinates and the sign still suggests the trail does go way back to where I was thinking of placing the cache but the reality is that it's maintained only so far and beyond that point only the odd ATV seems to have travelled (I guess they didn't read the sign about no motorized vehicles). Despite some improvements in the drainage it's still pretty wet back there and the bugs are vicious in summer.
The trail is still visible and hikeable and bikeable (I did the latter) Put it this way - once you get to the cache location you won't be bothered by muggles and the cache should be real easy to find. The only muggles I saw signs of were deer, birds, lots of frogs (you'll see why), mozzies and probably the odd tick.
For those who don't find the last section of trail to be their cup of tea I did hide another cache at the end of the "maintained" section of trail so your trip won't be wasted!
