My wife and I wanted to remember her Dad for all the great things he did for us and our two boys, so this Cache seems like a fitting way to keep his memory with us and share what a generous, kind man he was to everyone. He had a ready joke to tell, and a good laugh to enjoy with him. He was always "spoiling" his family with gifts, but his greatest gift was his love.
"Big John" (as he was called by his many friends) bought a metal detector during the last few years that we shared with him, and always wanted to go on a "treasure hunt" with our boys. Unfortunately, John passed before he could take the boys out to hunt for treasures. Now, both boys enjoy GeoCaching with us and this seems like a logical extention to what Grampsy would be doing today with them. As you can see, John was a huge Yankee Fan, so the cache reflects a love of the game that he passed on to our two boys.
