Lucanus cervus Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

JuRuu: A nice morning to check this one out. Some good and some bad news.
The good news, "Luc" must have found a mate because he was gone, the only thing he left was the green bison (for a long time in the belly of the beast).
The bad news, I really hate just plain bison tubes in the forest so I have to archive this one since there's no replacement for "Luc".

Geocache Description:

"Lucanus cervus" is the best-known species of stag beetle in the West, and is sometimes referred to simply as the stag beetle. It lives in holes in old trees and dead trunks, in the forest as well as in groves.

From the parking area (don’t block the gate) a nice hike. This is one of my favorite roads for a nice evening stroll and also the “easy” trail to the Mount Benson summit. Terrain rating is based on the last 20 meters.

Enjoy the views and BYOP.

Congratulations to Team MUMSY for the FTF
