Geocache Description:

This has proven to be a difficult find for some in a cute little neighborhood park.

As legend would have it, the city of Papillion was named by a group of fur traders who visited the area and found beautiful wildflowers and swarms of Monarch butterflies. History books tell us that one traveler became overjoyed by the sight and proclaimed, “Papillion! (Pappy-on)” which translates to butterfly in French.

Today, this history is seen by the street lights throughout town having banners of butterflies and the high school mascot of the Monarchs.

This is the first of a short series of caches paying honor to our little town.

Congrats to smn4caching for the FTF!
