Geocache Description:

Riggindale and Mardale Waters Circuit: a 4.5 mile walk along one of Lakeland's finest ridges, an easy traverse below a crag, and two lovely tarns, making an excellent walk.

From Eagle Crag, simply follow the path as it continues to climb more gently along the ridge, eventually reaching the high point of Rough Crag. Stunning views down into Riggindale valley, to High Street and the other hills. Kidsty Pike is across the valley - a dramatic lookout on the Coast to Coast route. Looking the other way, Blea Water and Small Water can be seen, as well as the route across the bottom of Piot Crag.

A nice little shelter, with magnificent perched views will be passed on the way to this cache - good place for a brew! See waypoint below, or keep your eyes peeled and you will spot it.

Rising in front is Long Stile leading directly up onto High Street. If you wish to extend the route, simply carry on onto the top of High Street, round to Mardale Ill Bell and down the ridge to Piot Crag, descending it via the north ridge. Not particularly tricky, just a little steep in the last bit, but straightforward. Our suggested route visits Blea Water then up and across below Piot Crag. Take your pick!
