Piper's Canyon Treasure Box Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Frau Potter: I had plans to improve this cache with some cool camo, but life got in the way. The right action is to free up the space in case someone else has a great idea for Carkeek.

Geocache Description:

This is a an easy geocache to find, along one of our favorite hiking trails for kids in Seattle. The cache is close to the edge of the trail and under a cedar tree so this will help you protect the plants and animals who live here.

Geocaching is a treasure hunt for children of all ages. I hope this one helps you to get out and explore a new area and experience the joy of "FOUND IT!." Carkeek Park has plenty to offer everyone - a beach, a salmon stream, miles of hiking trails, and a great viewpoint to watch trains passing! In November/December, you can see salmon returning to spawn in Piper's Creek. For more information about the park, go to the City of Seattle Parks and Recreation Page The park is open 6am to 10pm.

Parking for 4 cars is available at N 47° 42.192 W 122° 21.801. Another parking area is also available at the other end of the trail, N 47 42.670, W 122 22.327.

Please help me to keep this treasure box filled with fun items for geo-kids. Since we hike in this park very often, I hope to keep it full of fun items too.

Happy geocaching!
