Historischer Hintergrund:
Am 15. Juni 1389 (jul. Kal.) bzw. am 28. Juni 1389 (greg. Kal.) fand im heutigen Kosovo die Schlacht am Amselfeld statt, in der ein christliches Allianzheer, zusammengesetzt unter anderem aus serbischen, bosnischen und albanischen Truppen unter der Führung des serbischen Fürsten Lazar, dem Heer des Osmanischen Reichs unter Sultan Murad I gegenüber stand.
Obwohl heute gemeinhin das Osmanische Reich als Sieger gilt, ist der Ausgang der Schlacht historisch nicht gesichert. Fest steht, dass sowohl Fürst Lazar, als auch Sultan Murad I in der Schlacht ihr Leben ließen.
Zu den bekanntesten serbischen und osmanischen Denkmälern der Schlacht auf dem Amselfeld zählen das Denkmal der Helden des Kosovo und die Murad-Türbe.
Beide befinden sich auf dem Schlachtfeld von 1389.
Das Versteck führt Sie zu Ersterem, welches 1953 errichtet wurde. Das Zentrum dieses Denkmalskomplexes bildet ein Turm in Form eines mittelalterlichen Donjons (= Wehrturm), von dessen Spitze aus man den Bereich des damaligen Schlachtfeldes überblicken kann. Weiters befindet sich dort ein Relief über die Schlachtaufstellung.

Historical Background:
On 15 June 1389 (jul. Cal) and 28 June 1389 (greg. Cal) the Battle of Kosovo Polje took place in today´s Kosovo. A Christian Alliance Army, composed among others of Serbian, Bosnian and Albanian troops under the leadership of the Serbian Prince Lazar, stood against the army of the Ottoman Empire under Sultan Murad I.
Although the Ottoman Empire now commonly is deemed as the winner of the battle, is it historically uncertain. It is clear that both, Prince Lazar and Sultan Murad I in the battle gave their lives.
Among the most famous Serbian and Ottoman monuments of the battle of Kosovo Polje include the monument to the heroes of Kosovo and the Murad Türbe.
Both are on the battlefield of 1389.
The cache takes you to the former, which was built in 1953. The center of the monument complex is a tower in the form of a medieval donjon (= defense tower), from whose top you can survey the area of the former battlefield. Furthermore, there is a relief of the battle formation.
The cache contains a log book, bring your own pencil with!
