jcacher15: Letting this one go since I don’t reliably make it out here much any more. Picked up the container today. Thanks to all those who explored this part of the island and found this cache.

Geocache Description:

The Jetty Island Ferry runs from July 5th through labor day.  The ferry ride is free and donations are accepted.  Off season visitors will need their own watercraft.

Jetty island doesn't really have much "inland", since most of it is coastline.  Because of this fact, most tourists don't end up in this area.  For many, it's easy to walk along the shore and imagine that the looming wall of vegetation that can be seen continues all the way to the other side (maybe it does on some parts), but this place does not fall into that category.  This cache is placed along a route which crosses the thickest part of the island.  Coming in from the west side, a rough trail runs along swamp terrain, along with scotch broom.  From the east side, there is a large field of driftwood that extends from the river almost to GZ.  Coming in from the west may be difficult after heavy rains, and the east during high tide.  In the end, either route will get you to the cache.  There is an unactivated TB for FTF.
