Fiberboard Freeway Trail #38 Traditional Cache

All containers are hangers except for the first and last in the series which means the majority can be done year round. In most cases you can just unscrew the lid to remove the log without removing the entire container from its perch.

The Fiberboard Fwy is an old logging road that connects Tahoe City to Hwy 267 on Brockway Summit. The Fiberboard Corporation used to own all of this land for logging and was the original developer of the Northstar Ski Area. In about 2006 they paved the Fiberboard Fwy almost in its entirety. This string of caches will follow the paved portion of the road. This road is filled with snowmobiles in the winter and bikers in the summer. The Tahoe Rim Trail crosses this road in a couple of spots. The access gate is open from the end of May – November for vehicle access. I suggest doing this power trail on your bikes or x-country skis although it can be driven in any vehicle. Have fun and enjoy your time in this beautiful wilderness. Please respect the area.
