Geocache Description:

In 1915, with the aid of a bank overdraft, the Poverty Bay Cricket Association provided Gisborne with the “Oval” sports ground by acquiring a 22 acre block for £4,454. In 1926 the Cricket Association sold a half share to the Poverty Bay Rugby Union. In 1938, it handed over property control to the Rugby authorities in return for use of the ground for cricket between 1 October and 31 March each year for a peppercorn rental. International matches against Fiji and Australia have been hosted since.

The cache in an Eclipse container which contains only a log, pencil and pencil sharpener. There is little room for anything else. Please ensure that you place the cache back exactly where you find it.
