These cookie crumbs will lead you to two of the most spectacular natural wonders in the West Chilcotin. You will start at the the Beef Trail road and end at the parking area for what map points call “The Precipice” and what the locals call “The Baby Grand Canyon”. You will be well positioned to make the short walk to GC1VQWB. The second treat is that you will walk near the Precipice Falls, where Hotnarco Creek cascades into the canyon.
The road is a one lane dirt road that could be a challenge for very low ground clearance cars, although many regular passenger cars make the trip. Each cache is placed in a location that affords parking off the traveled portion of the roadway, so there is no need to obstruct traffic. Proceed slowly and it will be a great adventure. You may encounter muggles, as every resort in the area sends clients to this “must see” splendor.
As with any back road adventure, be sure to tell someone where you are going and when you should return. There is no cell service in this area.
