[LT] Visai netiketa yra tai, kad budamas astuntu pagal dydi Lietuvos miestu su 45 000 gyventoju, Mazeikiai neturi ne vieno paslepto lobio (cache) miesto teritorijoje.

[EN] Would you believe that eventhough Mazeikai is the 8th largest city in LT with population of more than 45 000 it has no single cache hidden in its vicinity?

[LT] Sioje Siaures Vakaru Lietuvos dalyje beveik visai nera pasleptu lobiu, vos keli. Vienas is ju, arciausiai Mazeikiu esantis "GC2VFD8 - Gelezinis tiltas", isikures Kurmaiciu kaime/soduose.
As esu is Slovakijos, o mano mergina Lietuve. Kadangi as megstu geocaching ir kartas nuo karto mes atvykstame i Mazeikius aplankyti jos seimos, as nusprendziau cia taip pat ikurti viena lobi. Tegu tai bus pirmasis pionierius, kuris galbut paskatins ir daugiau tokiu lobiu atsirasdima zemelapyje. :)

Lobis yra pasleptas netoli Aitvaro maluno, isikurusio pietineje Mazeikiu dalyje prie Ventos upes. Pats malunas tikriausiai jau nebeveikia, taciau tai grazi vieta, kur per upe driekiasi akmenu barjeras. Tai gana populiari vieta pasivaiksciojimams, ypac pamegta jaunimo. Kai vanduo siek tiek nusluges, gali daznai pamatyti poreles meiliai susedusias ant akmenu.

Turek omeny, kad GPS signalas gali buti truputi nestabilus del aplink esanciu medziu ir zalumos. Taip pat, nepamirsk uzmaskuoti sleptuves pries paliekant lobio vieta.

[EN] At all there are no many caches in this part of Lithuania. The closest one to Mazeikiai is currently "GC2VFD8 - Gelezinis tiltas" in the nearby village Kurmaiciai.
I'm from Slovakia and my girlfriend is Lithuanian. As I like geocaching and from time to time we are coming to visit her family in Mazeikiai, I decided to found here this cache. Let it be the first pioneer and hopefully next ones will appear on the map shortly :).

The cache is hidden not far from the Aitvaro (Aitvaras means kite in Lithuanian) mill located on the south part of Mazeikiai near the Venta river. The mill is probably not working anymore, however nearby there is a nice place - rocky barrier on the river. It is popular and sought-after mainly by young people. When the level of the water is no high you can often find there sitting couples.
To find the cache it is the best to use small path which is behind the mill.

Keep in mind that GPS signal can be a little unstable due to local vegetation. Also please make sure to camouflage the hideout before leaving.
