Geocache Description:

Placed during an impressive lightning show in Everett Ruess country. Ruess was an artist and adventurer, a vagabond for beauty, who went missing near here in 1934.

"I have not tired of the wilderness; rather I enjoy its beauty and the vagrant life I lead, more keenly all the time. I prefer the saddle to the streetcar and star-sprinkled sky to a roof, the obscure and difficult trail, leading into the unknown to any paved highway, and the deep peace of the wild to the discontent bred by cities." - from the last letter Ruess sent to his brother, dated November 11, 1934.

Please inquire about road conditions prior to searching for this cache and be mindful of desert critters who bite, sting or snap. And as Everett was apt to remark, remember to leave no trace. That means no bushwhacking across cryptobiotic soils.

2WD will do in dry weather. Bring lots of water regardless of the season. BYOP. Cache container is the color of the Entrada so keep your eyes peeled. Please leave the cache as you found it and replace the log as necessary.
