Dinosaur Series #24...Xenotarsosaurus Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

GeoB3A: I would like to thank all the cachers that have found this geocache of mine. Unfortunately it has gone missing and I haven't been active enough in geocaching to replace it an keep it active. I don't want to tie up this location, hopefully there will be a new cache in the vicinity someday in the future. Sorry to anyone that had an unsuccessful search for this Dino, or for anyone that was planning on hunting it.

I wish everyone the best....Happy Caching!!

Geocache Description:

In honor of my son’s fascination, and incredibly vast knowledge of prehistoric animals (you might even call it an obsession), I have created this series of dinosaur caches.  My goal is to eventually place a cache for a dinosaur of each letter of the alphabet. Yep, there are dinosaurs that start with the letters X,Y, & Z.

Xenotarsosaurus was a genus of abelisaurid theropod dinosaur from the late Cretaceous period. They were large, mean, carnivorous dinosaurs with some similarities to the Carnotaurus.

This 2 stage multi is hidden along the Rachel Carson Greenway Trail in the Northwest Branch stream valley.  There are many other caches along these trails so enjoy the hike and make a day of it.  Round trip from the listed parking coordinates and the final stage is about a mile and a half.

This cache has some similarities to the Xenotarsosaurus...it is mean.  BUT, it is tiny.  My ears are already ringing from all the curses that you are giving me under your breath.  You might be considering sending me hate mail, or if we are friends you might now be consdering me your enemy. One of the stages is hidden in the same manner as my NITW Dino Edition cache GC4AC35, and the other stage is hidden in the same manner as Dino Series #18 Rebbachisaurus GC4AT30.

Bring your own pen, and an extraction tool might come in handy.  Please use caution as you search around GZ, and wear footwear with good tread. Its a cool little spot, full of boulders, and fallen trees, just a bit off the trail.  And it overlooks the stream...what more could you ask for???

Sorry, no hint for now, but check out the logs for a picture of GZ for one of the stages

Happy Dinosaur Hunting!!!

***as with all of my caches, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns***
