Chibed
Chibed (Hungarian: Kibéd) is a commune in Mureş County. Between 1963-2003 it belonged to Ghindari, they split off in 2003.
It is situated 50 kilometers to Târgu Mureş, 10 kilometers to Sovata, on the right side of the Târgu Mureş, on the both sides of the road 13A which links Bãlãuşeri to Miercurea Ciuc. It is mentioned as Kibjed in 1499. In 1503 as Kijbed, in 1575 as Kybed, Kybéd; since 1602 as Kibéd. In 1910 it had 2633 inhabitants. In 1992 it had 1854 inhabitants and in 2002 it had 1785.
Places to see:
- Its reformed church was built between 1820 and 1926. Its organ was made between 1846-47 by Bodor Péter.
- Its Etnography Museum with Madaras Gábor's sculpture in it.
- Sculptures of Mátyus István, Seprõdi János, Madaras Gábor.
- A memorial made in 1999 for the 500. anniversary of the formation of the village.
