Cache is hidden along FS144, about a mile off Control Road. Four-wheel drive is recommended, or take a nice walk. The road is rough but we drove to the cache location without any difficulty.
There are at least a dozen dozen (144) reasons to save a tree. This cache is hidden in an area that was devastated by the Dude Fire in 1990. The area is recovering nicely now, and the National Forest Service is taking steps to protect young trees from damage. Please follow the rules and keep your vehicle on established roadways. The Dude fire burned 28,000 acres and 6 firefighters lost their lives fighting the battle.
