Don't Bark Down The Wrong Tree Traditional Cache

A family-friendly cache, along the Meadow Marsh Trail, a very short distance from the Aspen camping loop, this cache will be an easy walk for families with children of all ages.  The cache is in a clear, sealed container with a large-sized geocache sticker.  The original contents include a variety of new toys for young cachers, a logbook, writing utensils, and the printable cache note.  Placed with permission.

The Meadow Marsh Trail is the easiest of all the summer trails in Ponderosa State Park.  While it does not lead to a any scenic vistas, it is a very pleasant "walk in the woods" that may well bring you within sight and sound of many types of wildlife.  If the beach is crowded and a little far away, this sometimes overlooked trail may provide a very nice family hiking experience.  

The trailhead is at the overflow parking lot directly across from the entrance to the Peninsula Campground.  The trail loops around a marsh meadow.  It is a well-shaded hike with little elevation gain.

Since this is meant to be a family-friendly cache, and it is no fun to come up without the find -- especially for young ones -- I will provide a spoiler hint that will guide you right in, if needed.

Also, there is a GIGANTIC tree about 300 feet before the cache.  It would be a great location for photos.

Please rehide in such a way that (1) it can be found by families and (2) it will winter well.
