Geocache Description:


This cache is located with permission on the North Coast Inland Trail.  BYOP!  You may need a log extraction tool.  Muggles love this trail, so be on the lookout.  Please place cache back as found.   

 

The NorthCost Inland Trail is 28 Miles long and is currently Open for use from Bellevue to Elmore, Ohio.

Description & History: This 28 mile inactive rail line was converted to paved hike/bike path with Ohio Department of Transportation funding. The path is open year-round for walking, jogging, bicycling, in-line skates, strollers, - no motorized vehicles permitted (except handicap assistance vehicles). 
The 6.5 Mile section from Maple St, Clyde to Smith Rd, Fremont opened Sept 28, 1997
A 5 Mile section runs from Smith Rd, Fremont to the intersection of Park Ave & Hayes Ave, then utilizes city streets through Fremont to Walter Ave.
10.5 Mile section from Walter Ave, Fremont to Lindsey to Elmore was acquired March 31, 1997, opened Oct 12, 2008. This section is also part of the Buckeye Trail
4.75 Mile section from Maple St, Clyde to C.R. 177, Bellevue, opened Oct 11, 2012.
