Ante Up!!
Welcome to the Fall Geo-Poker Run!! Ante up and play a hand. There will be eight (unpublished)caches placed in and around Smithsburg for the event. You will need to visit at least five of them in order to make a poker hand. Please take only one envelope from each cache. All envelopes MUST remain sealed until event day when they will be opened by the "dealers".
If you choose to visit more than five caches, you may pick up an envelope from each so you will have the option of "drawing" a card from the extra envelopes to improve your hand. There will be a prize for the best hand.
There will be a pot-luck dessert buffet at the event so please bring something sweet to share with fellow cachers. Don't forget to bring an empty tupperware container (one that isn’t being used as a cache container!) so you can take home leftovers of the ones you especially like to share with your family. Plates and utensils will be provided. Bring your own beverages.
All caches have now been placed and are ready to find. For instant access to the Rules and Coordinates and the map of the cache locations, open the links below (right above the "logged visits" section). Alternately, you can email us at: Smithsburg.geo.poker.run.2013@gmail.com and request the documents. They will be sent to you as attachments to an email. The caches will be available up through the end of the event so you can look for them at your convenience. We'll have some other competitions for your enjoyment as well. *the eight caches for the poker run are not published and are strictly for the event.....* These caches will all be in close proximity to the event, so they can all easily be done on that day for those of you traveling in from a distance.
Schedule for event day: 2-2:45pm is arrival and ice breaker 2:45-4:00pm is games , eating, socializing & caching for those who need to finish the poker run or do the multi in the park 4:00pm we will start awarding prizes and socialize till 5:00 pm!
