Geocache Description:

Welcome to The Buckeye Scenic Trail
The trail is constructed on an abandoned rail system. The railroad was built by the Newark, Somerset and Straitsville Railroad in 1871 and extended from Newark to Shawnee. The line became a part of the B&O which later became the Chessie System. The line was abandoned in 1971 and the remaining line from Hebron to Heath was preserved and became the Buckeye Central Scenic Railroad. The line was abandoned in 2007 and recently converted into a multi purpose trail.

The caches along the trail are all micros. The majority of them are small bison tubes, and are in typical locations. There are a few other caches that aren't bison tubes, and they are hidden in different ways and locations. Most of the caches are within a few feet of the trail.

These caches are placed with permission and approval of the Licking Parks Department. Cache with confidence.
