HISTORY
Veterans Park, at one time, was the original site of barracks for military students and trainees. It was established as a park in 1947 and was named in honor of veterans of all wars.
DESCRIPTION OF PARK
Veterans Park, a 3-acre piece of land, is located on the corner of Louisiana and 19th Sts. and is home to a beautiful rose garden. The Eutin Rose Garden, named after the City of Lawrence's sister city in Germany, is a popular attraction for both visitors and residents in the summer. Full of flowers and trees, Veterans Park is also home to basketball and tennis courts, as well as playground equipment.
