This cache is found in a pretty little meadow behind a pretty little lake in the Uinta Mountains.
My family backpacks in the area every year and the first fish is usually caught in the little stream running through this meadow. Bring plenty of bug spray and a rain jacket!
For an easier hike shoot for the north end of Jewel lake (swing over to the cache at Fir lake). Entering from the south will have you scrambling over a large scree field to get to the lake. Either way, once you leave Ruth lake there is no more trail. The hike is about 1.5 miles.
