Geocache Description:

This is one of a series of caches celebrating Alberta Wildflowers, they are placed near to areas where I have seen the subject flower.

JACOB’S LADDER

Jacob’s Ladder is a stunning wildflower found in the Montane Zone up to the tree line. It belongs to the Phlox Family of flowers and although it is beautiful to look at it has an unpleasant scent. It is common though out K-Country, blooming from late June to mid August. I hid the cache in early June but delayed submitting it to GC.com due to access problems caused by our major spring floods. So, it may be a little late to see many this year.

The parking area is at the Moose Mtn Trail Head (see WP001 for co-ordinates). The small LnL is hanging fairly high in a spruce tree on the edge of a large clearing offering great views. The Moose Mtn road is open from May 15 to Dec 1, winter access to the cache would require a very long hike, increasing the TR to 4.5.

Have fun but don’t pick the flowers.
