This cache was originally placed to celebrate the 2GeoHounds 18,000 cache finds. That achievement equates to approximately 6 smiles per day since they starting caching in November, 2005. The cache is initially stocked with Mr. Hounds favorite swag...rubber ducks!
Both 2GeoHounds passed away during the beginning of the COVID epidemic. This cache is now a tribute to two of my favorite caching buddies. I racked up many fun miles caching with them over the years.
The cache is an ammo can located in the Sargent Wildlife Management Area in Newton, NH. The hike into ground zero is about 2 tenths of a mile along a well worn trail. There are two areas that could be be muddy or wet to cross depending on the time of year but there are makeshift "bridges" in place to aid in crossing. To find the cache, you will need to bushwhack about 175' from the trail after the second water crossing. The cache is well hidden so it won't be seen by hunters. The hint is a spoiler.
Hunting is allowed in this WMA. For more information about specific hunting season dates, go to the NH Fish and Game website.
