I archived this series after all but one of them were dnf'ed after already being replaced. Some were never found after replacement. Then when we were in the vicinity I decided to ride up there on my bicycle and check out how many I could find. The answer was two. And it didn't include the one someone else found this year.
I decided to reissue the two I could find since they were still in place.
So there we were, calmly doing cache maintenance on SRME - Abandoned when BP starts wondering what the abandoned road is like. "I know the sign says ditches cut across the road the next 4 miles, but how far do you think we could drive it?" We have a stock intermediate size SUV so you can make your own judgments on how far you want to drive, if at all. We did manage to hit the trailer hitch once going each direction. Vehicles with bumpers that stick out a long ways in front or behind the wheels are probably not suitable for driving this road. This one almost stopped us when we first saw it but after closer investigation we decided it was worth a try. I must say it was rather fun knowing we were probably the only vehicles on the road. But while parked and enjoying the view a pair of atv's did pass through. Terrain rating due to the steepness of some of the ditches
