I often enjoy taking some back roads home or between places. The highway can be such a drag, particularly during the commute as people jockey for position, park in the left lane, race for who knows what and you generally are stuck watching cars around you until you exit. No joy. No fun.
But back roads offer occasional views and Larkin Valley is a rather pleasant drive, even if only for a few miles. Horse ranches abound and you may find a horse sharing the road at times.
There's a small pull out in the northbound lane and you can always admire the view if a car is coming. You can actually see Highway 1 from here, as well, if you miss it.
