This cache is placed in honor of the two large box elder trees, scientific name: Acer Negundo. The box elder is a fast growing, fast replicating deciduous tree, that is difficult to eradicate. It blooms yearly and sends out small papery seeds that need little encouragement to grow, and send out deep tap roots, which allow this tree to grow in this arid area. The wood is not good for firewood, the branches are brittle and break randomly, and its not a good wood for wood working projects. It does however provide year around shade for the homeowners who would like to provide a quiet search in the shade of the trees after a long hot day of geo caching in Okanogon County. There is a pull off space along side the road but be careful as it is a busy road. If you feel you are being watched it may be one of the many birds, squirrels, cats or small Geocachers that call under the tree home
