This small local park is often alive with the sound of young children playing but for a long time it was a place of learning. Back in the 1870s Weetangera was a thriving farming community. The first school for the area opened here on 27th April 1875 with 27 students.
Come and enjoy this tranquil park with your geohound and geokids. Stop and read the sign erected in the park and unveiled on Monday 5th August 2013 to learn more about the wonderful history of this area.
Our geokids were here to witness the unveiling and listen to past principals and students stories as part of the 40th Anniversary celebrations of the current Weetangera Primary School.
