I've replaced the cache on 12/27/2013. The coordinates will still be valid.
This cache is hidden in the middle of the beautiful Coffee Creek Park just east of downtown Chesterton. The park is infrequently visited, and those that do visit rarely venture past the playground at the entrance to the park. Muggles shouldn't be an issue at any time of the year.
Coffee Creek winds through the park, providing shelter for wild plants and animals. There is never a shortage of wildflowers and interesting plants! Fish in the creek and nearby lake are abundant as well. The trails are well-kept and perfect for a walk through nature with friends or family. When searching for the cache, please take some time to enjoy the park -- it really is one of Chesterton's hidden gems!
You are looking for brown peanut butter jar. There is plenty of room for items.
**No climbing needed -- No need to walk into swamps or get wet. The cache is within a few feet of the path. You will have to step off of the path. Please respect the local plant and animal life! **
Parking is available either at the playground or just east of downtown (off of Calumet Ave.). It is possible to drive to within about 200 ft of the cache, but no designated parking is available there.
Happy hunting!
