Geocache Description:

August’s 31 days of Geocaching

August is the eighth month of the year in both the Julian and Gregorian calendars.  It is one of the seven months with 31 days.   In common years no other month starts on the same day of the week as August, though in leap years February starts on the same day. August ends on the same day of the week as November every year.

August was originally called Sextilis but in 8BC it was renamed in honour of Augustus (63BC – 14AD).  He was the founder of Roman Empire and this was the time of several of his great triumphs including the conquest of Egypt.

According to Wikipedia there are many month-long events in August --- including The Edinburgh Festival; Water Quality Month; Summer Holidays in the Northern Hemisphere; Goat Cheese Month in the USA; Cataract Awareness Month; Happiness Happens Month; Neurosurgery Outreach Month; and Panini Month; it is Family History month in NZ …...…. to name a few.     And we also know that it is Geocaching Month !

“D and A” are not chasing the challenge, just geocaching along the way as August happens. However we really admire those who have the resilience to go out every day, far and wide, rain or shine, day or night to get the whole set of 31 souvenirs.  This cache a little offering for you to help fill in your month!

Cache --- Nasty little magnetic Nano. Not hidden really; rather was placed in full sight!

You will need your own pen. Note for those who say they have trouble getting the log out, try using a safety pin or paper clip end or similar, just two of many useful items we carry in our cache-bag !!

This is a very high muggle area --- so you might have to choose your time carefully!
