Geocache Description:

A short walk from town will find you in a quiet street.

Willowburn cottage was built in the 1800'S at which time it was the servants quarters for the attached farm house to the side. In later times it served as the home for one of Helensburghs Hansom Cabs, stabeling the horses in the grounds of the old farm house. The hooks where the cabby would have hung his sign are still visible at the side of the cottage. On returning home one day the cabby nearly came a cropper as his near neighbour had strung telephone lines across the road nearly decapitating the poor fellow !! The said neighbour was none other than John logie Baird admid an experiment with his early invention of a phone exchange.

The cashe is located at Willow Burn cottage ( look for the smiley face above the door, clearly seen from the street) Willow Burn cottage sits on the SE corner of Glasgow St and Argyll St and is painted a creamy pink colour. Please not that you do not have to enter the property grounds as the cache is accessible from the street, the home owner is fully aware of the cache location.
