The Smiths were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1982. Based on the songwriting partnership of vocalist Morrissey and guitarist Johnny Marr, the band also included bassist Andy Rourke and drummer Mike Joyce. The Smiths were the definitive British indie rock band of the '80s, marking the end of synth-driven new wave era.
I love The Smiths. I find their music and lyrics uplifting and inspiring. I sing along to at least one Smiths song per day.
