Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden adjacent to the property of the Old Town Hot Spring, home of the famous Heart Spring where the Ute Indians used to soak. The Crawford Family settled in Steamboat Springs in the late 1880s so they could bathe in the Heart Spring. The Heart Spring pumps approximately 220 gallons per minute and comes out of the ground at 103 degrees.

The Aquatics GeoCache is up on the hill, overlooking downtown Steamboat Springs, and above the Old Town Hot Springs. You can also see the slopes of Howelsen Hill, with this view. Park in the back parking lot behind the pumphouse. Look for a very tiny trail that goes straight up the fenceline, on the outside of the property. This geocache may be difficult to access in the winter due to snow. Bring aquatic trade items. Inside: Pen, Logbook, Trade
