Questa cache è nascosta dove un tempo i bambini nascondevano i loro tesori.
La famosa Roccia del Fungo si trova alla periferia del paese, verso nord-est, sopra un colle detto Monte Incappiddatu, (monte col capello). Da questo monumento naturale il luogo ebbe il suo nome in epoca romana, quando Arzachena era chiamata Turubulus Maior (fungo grande). Questo grosso blocco di granito plasmato dalla natura, ha infatti la forma di un enorme fungo. La roccia era frequentata sin dalla preistoria come riparo sottoroccia: qui infatti sono stati trovati materiali datati dal Neolitico (3500 a.C.) sino al periodo nuragico; nei pressi della roccia è stato anche individuato un villaggio nuragico.
Questo è sempre stato un posto selvaggio, poco frequentato, poi cementato nel nuovo secolo per permetterne l'accesso ai turisti che non hanno avuto molto rispetto del posto, che come vedrete è pieno di graffiti e mondezza. Ingraziatevi il Dio del fungo non lasciando spazzatura e magari portandone via un po', ne avrete grandi benefici! Esso è il Dio delle rocce, e' stato il rifugio dei ragazzi di questo quartiere per decenni. E' attorniato da piccoli percorsi segreti dove al tempo della guerra venivano nascoste le armi e delle quali si riappropriammo i ragazzi come "basi" per le loro bande. Se vedrete una persona salire agilmente sul suo cappuccio, probabilmente esso è uno di loro. Chiedetegli di più su questo bellissimo rione, sulle sue fameliche rionimpiadi, sugli "stadi" distribuiti nelle strade dove un tempo si giocava a pallone, si correva in bici, ci si incontrava e si vivevano tante piccole grandi avventure. Dalla sua cima potrete vedere i tetti delle case di quei ragazzi.
La cache è nascosta nella cavità alla base della roccia che ne sorregge il cappello.
Attenzione: Il posto dove la cache è nascosta è spesso sporco e maleodorante. Lo abbiamo pulito più volte con alcuni amici Geocachers, ma la maleducazione non ha confini di età e di religione. Per loggare la cache non è necessario recuperarla, vi è sufficiente caricare insieme al log una vostra foto insieme al grande fungo, o farne una al panorama che godrete da lassù! Altro problema, la cache viene rubata puntualmente pochi giorni dopo che la metto. Sinceramente non so come comportarmi. Ne ho messa una di riserva sul muretto di sinistra, ripeto va bene un foto log. E buon relax!

In Arzachena, not far from Piazza Risorgimento, lies the rock 'Il Fungo'. The naturally shaped granite sculpture has the form of a large mushroom. This famous rock was known since Romanian empire as "Turubulus Maior" (big mushroom) and is called in local dialect "Monti Incappiddatu" (rock with hat). It has been shaped by strong winds, and its surroundings have been used as a repair since Neolitic age (3500 a.c.) together with some adjacent nuragic villages.
This has always been a wild place, barely visited, then cemented in the new century to allow tourist to climb it, and from then it is soiled and full of rubbish. Please contribute with your geocacher spirit to keep it clean, maybe throwing away some garbage, you'll have great benefits. It is the God of the rocks: it has been the shelter of many little children for decades. It is surrounded by many secret paths exploited during the war and regained from local children to build posts during their war games. If you see an agile man jumping over its hat, it is possibly he's one of them. Ask him more about this neighborhood, its famous Rionimpyades, the "stadiums" distributed among the many streets where they used to play football, run bike, meet up, and live their little big adventures. Upon its peak you will see all the roofs of those children's home.
The cache is hidden in the cavity right under the big rock that sustains the mushroom hat.
Notice: The place where the cache is hidden is often dirty or niffy. I cleaned it by myself many times with some fellow geocachers but the rudeness is limitless. To log the cache you no need to retrieve it, above all if with children. So if you prefer, just take a picture with you and the big mushroom or the sightseeing. Another problem, the cache is methodically stolen a few days after I replace it. I honestly don't know what to do. I put a spare one hidden on the left wall, but again, a photo log is perfectly fine.
