Geocache Description:

Some of my geofriends are working on the 30 days of August challenge so I thought a cache located near were some of them live and/or work might be helpful. Choosing a name for a cache to help my friends on their streak proved to be problematic however.

If you are a geocacher of a certain vintage and demographic your mind immediately conjures up the phrase "Don't look Ethel!" when you hear people talk about a streak.  Ray Stevens classic 1974 song embodied the spirit of the short lived streaking craze and proved to be a staple in the Hee Haw musical library for years afterward.

But a quick check of cache names reveals there are approximately 472 Bazillion caches based on this song.  Not saying that cachers are not a creative bunch but when to comes to placing caches to help others on a "streak" we are not exactly sailing uncharted waters here. What makes this especially sad is Ray Stevens was not a one hit wonder. From his fertile musical talent sprung some of the most poignant songs of our generation. So after you find and log this cache why not celebrate by partaking in the musical smorgasbord that is Ray Stevens.

Some songs you will want to enjoy include:
•Gitarzan
•Ahab the Arab (featuring Clyde)
•Bridget the Midget
•Shriner's Convention
•I Saw Elvis In A U.F.O.
•Jeremiah Peabody's Polyunsaturated Quick-Dissolving Fast-Acting Pleasant-Tasting Green and Purple Pills
•I Need Your Help, Barry Manilow
•Makin' the Best of A Bad Situation
•Would Jesus Wear a Rolex

And my personal favorite, the classic “The Mississippi Squirrel Revival.”

Click on the related webpage and you will find many more Ray Stevens songs to enjoy. So in conclusion, May your pleasures be many, your troubles be few, we'll see you next week on ......HEE HAW!
