Albert Arnold "Al" GOre, Jr., served in both houses of Congress before becoming VP under President Clinton. Clinton involved Gore to an unprecedented degree in decision-making. Choosing Gore was a bit controversial, because instead of geographical diversification, CLinton, a Southerner, chose Gord, another Southerner, to run with him.
