In the spectrum of crime families, the Delveccio family is on the decline. Vincent is 5 years older than John Amato, Sr. and is blessed with 3 daughters in his marriage to Antonia. No sons. This means that his children are VERY involved in the family business. 2 of Vincent's daughter's marriages were arranged in order to enhance the family within the under-community. His son-in-law, Giuseppe is the family underboss, and will take over when Vincent is gone. Still with significant influence, the Delveccio family has a hold on a number of businesses in the area, especially restaurants and hotels. Most of the proprietors are either directly connected to the family as fronts for money laundering operations, or are in business as "franchisees" for the family. A heavy 35% cut of the profits goes directly into the Delveccio family coffers.
Vincent is quiet, shrewd and ruthless. He knows that his family status will be in jeopardy when he's gone, so he spends a great deal of his time, solidifying the family business. It's a well-oiled machine. It's just not expanding anymore.
