This tube cache is part of a group of caches placed in the Johnstown area to celebrate the Bicentennial of Johnstown, Ohio in 2013. Dr. Oliver Bigelow donated land and planned the village in 1813. Visit all of these caches to learn more of this town's history. Happy 200th Birthday Johnstown.
This creature roamed this area over 8000 years ago and its skeleton was discovered on August 12, 1926 on Friend Butt's farm. (And yes, that is his real name!) It is now housed in the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. You can park in the lot of the store across the highway, and take care crossing. It will take some geo-skill to retrieve this little cache once you locate it. Please put it back exactly as you found it, so pay attention to how you get it out. BYOP.
