This cache was chosen, named and hidden by Junior Clan member Alia. It is her first cache. YAY! This location has full amenities for a family picnic/ BBQ. There is a playground, toilets, open area for games and a covered area with tables and BBQ's. From here many of the caches in the Dandenongs are only a short drive making this an ideal lunch stop or start point. NOTE- Park gates are shut from dusk to 8.00am.
The best and most eco-friendly way to this cache is over the concrete bridge and then left just past the end. There is a narrow trail leading directly past GZ. There is no need to go off the trail You only need to leave the main path and traverse the track in the last 10 meters. We suggest parking in the main parking area accessed off Wicks Road or Basin-Olinda road as this will be safer than on the roadside NOTE THAT THE PARKS GATES CLOSE AT DUSK, please do not get locked in! Many different creatures use the water way as home and there is an abundance of birdlife here as well as frogs and plenty of interesting flora at different times of the year. The intital contents of the cache include our daughters hand made log for you to sign and leave comments. (pencil included) We um'd and ah'd about an FTF given the size of the cache, however in the spirit of the game have left a mini compass for the lucky finder.
