In quest'area si trovano le attuali sorgenti del Sile. Anticamente, come testimoniato da numerose mappe storiche, le risorgive originarie si trovavano presso l'attuale Porta dell'Acqua.
Sul finire dell'800, e successivamente nel 1920, il corso originario del Sile - detto oggi paloalveo - fu interrato per contrastare le continue esondazioni del Sile che, essendo ricco di acqua, andava a formare i palù, aree acquitrinose oggi di grande interesse naturalistico, ma all'epoca poco considerate per lo scarso potere produttivo.
Per raggiungere la cache, parcheggiate al waypoint indicato arrivando da Torreselle di Piombino Dese (PD) o da Casacorba di Vedelago (TV). Il parcheggio si trova seguendo le indicazioni Porta dell'Acqua, da li proseguite a piedi seguendo i cartelli indicanti "Gran Bosco dei Fontanassi", per 500 metri la strada è asfaltata, poi diventa sterrata ed è vietato l'accesso alle macchine (non alle biciclette, il mezzo più indicato per fare tutto il GiraSile). In tutto si cammina per 1,5 km per arrivare alla zona.

Qui potrete ammirare un grande esemplare di Farnia che fa punto di riferimento per tutti gli escursionisti delle Sorgenti del Sile.
D = Numero massimo di lobi arrotondati nelle foglie della Farnia
Q4 - La torbiera:
Dalle finestre dell'osservatorio potrete ammirare uno degli ambienti naturali più preziosi del Veneto: la torbiera di pianura delle sorgenti.

L'acqua che emerge dalle risorgive contribuisce a creare un microclima fresco, con una umidità elevata e una ridotta escursione termica.
