Geocache Description:

Gather this night, brave of heart if you dare,
to enter the forest transformed by Nightmare!

Deep within Maine woods of old, A night of horror is foretold.

A certain autumn night advances. A freakish set of circumstances...

A trickster felt he had been wronged. In his heart, revenge was spawned.

He blames those who hunt for caches. Feels they turned his world to ashes.

Now time has come to set things right; to venture out into the night.

To brave the forest, to pass the test; give hostile spirits final rest...

We hope you will enjoy our event! You will be traversing a haunted loop trail through the woods which is approximately 4 tenths of a mile. The adventure will start just as dusk is setting, around 6:15pm, and will end once all participants have survived the evening. This event could be too intense for young or sensitive children, but if your kids enjoy haunted houses, haunted hayrides and such, then they will likely have a great time! We will have a table set up for the trading of TBs. There will be door prizes! If it should rain, the rain date will be 11/2.

We will also be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to a local food pantry, so please bring some canned goods. We can make a difference!

Things to bring:

A small flashlight. (Please, nothing too bright. We don't want to blind anyone!)

A walking stick for those that may need one may be brought along as well, though it may not be used to ward off any of the frights of the night lest they be riled up even more!

A camera. This is not a commercial haunt. As such, please feel free to document your adventures and what the night may bring!

Good walking shoes. You will be in the woods after dark...

A sense of humor!

We know some of you will be traveling quite a distance to the event and want to let you know that there will not be any bathrooms available on site, so if you need to use the facilities there are some public restrooms not too far away located in the Freeport Town Station N 43° 53.793 W 070° 09.542. There are also various shops and restaurants in the area that may have facilities as well. If you get off the exit 22 ramp and head toward Freeport you will see a McDonalds not too far away.
We will have some light snacks and cider. If anyone wants to bring any Halloween themed snacks, they would be welcome.

The J &E Geostore will have their table set up if you are looking for some cool caching stuff
