Many thanks to the hotel owners for having this series of caches on their land.
In finding these caches you will be WALKING or CYCLING along a public right of way on private property. DO NOT DRIVE along the track where the caches are set - it is not a public road and does not take you to all of the caches. How strong a stomach do you have?
Are you the right person to un-earth body parts in the quest for buried treasure? Find four severed limbs and who knows, immeasurable wealth could come your way!
Jean Lois Parry was a local girl, but not for her the drudgery of working on the family farm, where she lived just outside Bala 200 years ago; so she made her way to Barmouth where, dressed as a boy, she procured work on a sailing vessel bound for the Caribbean. Her quest for excitement led her into a life of piracy and she amassed a hoard of jewels that she brought back to Bala when she finally became too old to be a pirate. Back home in Bala, Jean lived a quiet, comfortable life, living off the riches in her treasure chest, but the authorities became suspicious of her wealth and she buried the chest nearby. Knowing that relocating it might be a problem, she had information about its location tattooed on her hands and feet, but soon she fell seriously ill and died of some dreadful tropical disease that she had contracted whilst abroad. Her only friend in Bala, a n’er-do-well and fellow pirate of earlier years, complied with Jean’s requests and had her hands and feet cut off her body, and buried individually, so that no one person should ever again find her treasure chest and benefit from her wealth. Your quest, geocacher, is to find the containers where the hands and feet have been buried and to read from them, the information tattooed upon them. This information you may then be able to use to build a set of coordinates sufficient to find the treasure chest. You are looking for a small container, but it is housed within something a little larger! Don't forget to collect the information that you need
