Besides it's wonderful history as all locks along the Rideau Canal share, Upper Brewers Mills Lock offers a great starting point for your paddling adventure into Cranberry and Dog Lakes. The lock has wonderful launches and docks for canoes and kayaks, plus washrooms and picnic area's. While recently launching from this spot one of our paddle group noticed an interesting piece of nautical history laying in the woods and thought " what a great location for a cache ". This is why you are here.
This cache is number nine of what we hope will be many caches placed on the shores of local lakes & rivers by this very informal paddle group known as the Wednesday Paddle Group or WPG in short. This is a group of paddlers that get together most Wednesdays in the spring, summer and fall to paddle local lakes and rivers. The WPG mission statement is to simply have fun, sharing our awesome waterways with like minded people.
The group has no committee's, no chairperson and no mandate........each week while we are enjoying our paddle, we simply pick the next weeks paddle location and time to meet. Someone is selected to send out an e-mail as a reminder and all who wish to attend that weeks paddle just e-mails back saying they will or will not be there, this is so we don't leave the start point without anyone. If you wish to be on our e-mail list your more then welcome to join us, just drop us an e-mail.
Congrads to Ms Muffet for your FTF sorry about the skidders.
