This tube cache is part of a group of caches placed in the Johnstown area to celebrate the Bicentennial of Johnstown, Ohio in 2013. Dr. Oliver Bigelow donated the land and planned the village in 1813. Visit all of these caches to learn more of this town's history. Happy 200th Birthday Johnstown.
Johnstown was originally part of the U.S. Military Tract which was land that was given to Revolutionary War Soldiers as payment for their service. The land where Johnstown now is located was given to a Kentucky Veteran, John Brown, but he sold it to Dr. Oliver Bigelow from New York in 1810. Dr. Bigelow is buried in this historic cemetery. See if you can find his grave after you find the cache, and post a picture (if you can) of something interesting too. Please respect the hours of operation 8 a.m.-7p.m., and do not disturb any markers or graves. Parking available.
