Geocache Description:

One of a series along Greystone Lane

Grace, Connie and Evie, the Brown Teddy cubs, and their cousin Jaime have set this series of caches along a quiet road called Greystones Lane. It is a nice walk along the lane – and when they set the caches there were lots of blackberries to pick. Each cache is a different type of container. If you are driving along the lane, there is a car parking space close to each cache.

From this cache you can see the old chimney from the 'Woodbine Pit', this was the last working iron ore pit in the Furness district and was worked until 1944. This Pit was known locally as 'Dicky Pink'. The depression in the land towards the chimney is from the 'Old Newton Mine' with its nearby 'No1 Pit' shaft and headworkings - now long gone.
