Geocache Description:

After a number of discussions and just enough geo-planning, the Flint Hills Geocachers adopted their section in August, 2013. The sections that lie between mile markers 97 and 99 on Kansas Highway 177 just south of Manhattan.

We will meet up at the posted coordinates on SEPTEMBER 21, 2013 at 10 AM then take people to the clean-up areas. Water will be provided throughout the event.

The Kansas Department of Transportation started the Adopt-A-Highway program in December 1989, with the first pick-ups starting in April 1990.

Cache In Trash Out is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers have been dedicated to cleaning up parks and other cache-friendly places around the world.

Because we will be working along the highway, there are, unfortunately, some restrictions.

  • No kiddo’s under the age of 11.
  • Please wear long pants and comfortable shoes that cover your whole foot.
  • Orange vests will provided and must be worn at all times.
