Mud Run Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Mama_Dawn: This one had a good run but the critters don't seem to leave the container alone, no matter what I use.

Thanks to everyone who risked the road to find this cache!!

Geocache Description:

Yet another KS road that could use one of those 'Minimum Maintenance' road signs. ;)

I very seldom use an actual map while Geocaching. I find that my trusty iPhone ap does quite well getting me around without running me down (too many) cow paths. So imagine my surprise when I turned the corner on to a seemingly good gravel road, across a decent railroad crossing, and right in to what looks to be a Mud Bogging trench!

Luckily it had been some time since the last rain, and what was a small pond in very recent weeks, had dried up. The “road” had been grated down recently to the point the ruts from the last unsuspecting driver were almost smoothed out. With my automobile (luckily) dry and unstuck I continued up to the spot I turned down this was to find in the first place. I easily found my hiding spot, deployed the cache, and made my way back to the main road.

In case you didn’t read the story above…READ THIS: Do NOT go down this road when it’s wet. If you do, and you get stuck, I hope you have roadside assistance…or know a local cacher with a large tow rope…to come to your rescue.

Congrats to KSYardBird on the FTF!
