NOTE: THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE ABOVE COORDINATES!
My other recent puzzle caches in the area have been well received. This gives me the courage to essay another. This cache is located along the Green Ribbon Trail, and is easily reached by someone 5' 1" tall. From the parking coordinates, walk a short distance along the side street to the Green Ribbon Trail sign. Then follow the trail into the woods. Ascend to the top of the rise and then descend until you are near the cache. You will have a nice view of an attractive golf course. The cache is not there.
I love to read, especially history, most especially military history. I have devised this puzzle using dates of battles. Like the first puzzle in this series, the battles I'm using, are esoteric, rather than generally famous, but I know them well. Unfortunately, you'll be able to obtain the answers using the internet, instead of researching the old fashioned way.
The real coordinates for the cache are given in the following format: N 40 09.ABC. W 075 14.XYZ. Use the corresponding clues below to obtain the numeric coordinates. Park in the wide entrance to the disused driveway, about 20 feet before the locked gate, off to the right. No credit without your signature.
A. The last digit of the year of the Battle of Khalkhyn Gol.
B. The last digit of the year of the Battle of the Little Big Horn.
C. The last digit of the year of the Relief of Mafeking.
X. The last digit of the year of the Battle of Tsushima.
Y. The last digit of the year of the Battle of Belleau Wood.
Z. The last digit of the year of the Battle of Vimeiro.
Unfortunately, I'm not sufficiently technologically proficient to provide an answer checker.
The cache contains a log, pencil, small trade items and a prize for FTF to help you figure your income tax. That happy season is fast approaching.
It's a shame to bring war into this peaceful place, but that's what usually happens in war.
