Geocache Description:

What's in a name?

Frankenstein is one of the most well known stories ever written. Authored by Mary Shelly and first published in 1818, the tale of assembling the ghastly creature and raising it high to be struck by lightning to ultimately give the creature life and so on... We all know the tale. Movies have been made and remade since the 1930's on the topic and more than one of us in our lifetime has likely imitated the straight-armed, stiff legged walk while moaning some gutteral noises for fun...

The problem is this... the monster's name wasn't Frankenstein. He's referred to as a lot of things in the book like "monster", "demon", "devil", and "wretch", but not once is he called Frankenstein. Victor Frankenstein is the doctor/mad scientist that creates the monster, but he never actually names his creation in the text, leaving the reader to use one of the villianizing names used to describe him as his name.

About the Cache - I thought this tidbit of knowlegde was interesting, so I decided to place a cache to educate the masses on such a serious topic =)  It is a small and not so easy to find nano that may just remind you of the foul creature created by Doctor Victor Frankenstein.

Gratz to KTB for FTF honors!
