Geocache Description:

Welcome to Shaftesbury Park!

Shaftesbury Park was built on the remnants of an old rifle range along the edge of the River Usk. The park originally included a bowling green and a large yachting pond where locals would sail toy boats recreationally. The park also played host to Buffalo Bill on the 16th of July 1903 when he toured Britain. These days the park is mainly used by dog walkers and the occasional sports team though there is a play area and slide for kids to enjoy.
